There is a third feature which is just like the set up with a work station, but in this area there is storage rather than a desk. Having a separate desk may seem more practical at first glance. This is an adult way of looking at the setup. Discuss this option with your children and you'll probably find that they're not so keen on it. By having drawers and storage space underneath the top bunk it makes the area underneath less fun. If you want to maximise your storage area then you might be better of with a mid height bed with storage, rather than a bunk bed with futon?
