This is obviously not ideal for everyday access, however it is a great way to store items only required occasionally. Because the area isn't divided up it gives you plenty of flexibility as to what to store.

Don't worry too much about the weight of lifting up the mattress to access the area, the platform is hinged at the top and it is quite easy to lift and lower.
